About us

I am Anke, the founder of smartPATTERN. I turned my hobby into a profession and learned from the ground up. I am a master tailor, lecturer in pattern making and CAD, professional pattern designer for internationally renowned fashion labels and have received various prizes and awards. I am fascinated by turning ideas into my own work and using the cleverest and most effective technologies possible. For many years, I have been involved in the effective creation of made-to-measure patterns and sustainable concepts.

I am Anja, a member of the smartPATTERN team since May 2022, and I support Anke with writing the instructions, testing the new patterns and social media, among other things.

As a teenager, I practiced sewing on my mother’s machine. For a few years now, it’s been my perfect crafty-creative balance to my office job and I sew almost all my clothes myself.

Ever since my first pair of smartPATTERN stretch jeans, I have been addicted to the made-to-measure patterns and the many options offered by the configurator. So I’m all the more pleased to be able to take a look behind the scenes.

I am Dean, and I joined the smartPATTERN team in June 2026. My main areas of responsibility are video editing and translating our content.

My passion for fabrics and design led me to study textile and clothing technology. I am particularly fascinated by the combination of traditional pattern development and digital technologies. Thanks to my strong interest in computers and software, I work as a freelancer on a variety of projects that bring creativity and technology together. I would also like to contribute the experience I gain from these projects to smartPATTERN and help drive the product’s continuous development.
